Perhaps the goal of that pre-draft visit was to learn more about the Texas A&M product's character after he was arrested back in early February, months before the draft, for disorderly conduct and property damage.
National Football League rookie Christian Kirk was showing signs of cocaine use when he was arrested at a golf tournament in Arizona back in February. this according to the police report obtained by TMZ Sports.
The police report said an officer could smell alcohol on Kirk, whose eyes were bloodshot and watery. He was charged with criminal damage and the case is pending.
Witnesses reported seeing the men throwing rocks in the parking lot for the golf tournament held at TPC Scottsdale. And while he may be looking forward to playing alongside franchise icon Larry Fitzgerald and possibly replacing him as the team's primary receiver, reports have alleged that he was involved in an incident a few months before the draft that didn't seem to bother the Cardinals too much when they picked him last month.
Cardinals general manager Steve Keim, for example, said after the draft that the team paid special attention to character this year.
"We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently", the Cardinals said in a statement.
Kirk just finished participating in rookie minicamp during the weekend.
"We don't want a bunch of choir boys, I'm not saying that", Wilks said.
If that's not bad enough, TMZ adds that Kirk was high on cocaine at the time of the arrest. "We're not going to worry about getting a phone call in the middle of the morning that someone out in Scottsdale is doing something insane".
