The film tells the story of the early years of smuggler Han Solo and stars Alden Ehrenreich in the title role and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, both actors playing younger versions of the characters made famous by the original "Star Wars" trilogy.
"'Solo" is really good", Yahoo's Kevin Polowy wrote on Twitter. Alden Ehrenreich as everybody's favorite scruffy-looking nerf herder takes some time getting used to, but is solid.
Updated May 11 with more details about the series and where it fits in the franchise's timeline.
Now, of course to many fans the idea of a "young Luke" doesn't make much sense, considering we saw the future Jedi Master go through the most exciting years of his life in the original Star Wars trilogy. For those still interested in what the filmmaker is up to, he recently shared his thoughts on Solo: A Star Wars Story, though he acknowledged his followers might not believe what he thought about a Star Wars film.
"A Star Wars Story", and Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are the producers. It stars Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett, Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra, Thandie Newton as Val, Phoebe Walker-Bridge as L3-37, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos. "Solo: A Star Wars Story" will be released into theaters nationwide on Friday, May 25th. "Solo was a blast".
