Israel's military said on Tuesday that two armed Palestinian men from the Gaza Strip were caught while trying to infiltrate into Israel. His younger brother, Rami Albatsh, who arrived from Germany on Sunday evening, was also there to facilitate the process of flying his body back to Gaza through Egypt this evening.
"The Palestinian authorities are communicating with Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which will be the body's first transit, in order to speed up the procedures and finalise the required documents", Anwar Al-Agha noted.
"We are quite sure they will give the approval, but it's only a matter of time... we really need to wait".
The use of lethal force by Israeli snipers against unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza, and its endorsement by high-ranking military officials, including Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, have drawn global condemnation.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun confirmed the find but declined further comment as investigations were still ongoing.
Hamas in an earlier statement said the Palestinian engineer was a "loyal" member and a "scientist of Palestine's youth scholars". "Hamas has also aligned with Hezbollah terrorists and they are both involved in drug trafficking to support their activities", Diker said.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said on Saturday the suspects were believed to be Europeans with links to a foreign intelligence agency.
His family and the Hamas terror group have blamed the hit on Israel's Mossad spy agency.
The photograph was released a day after police said they had found a motorbike allegedly used in the drive-by shooting.
He said the suspects, clad in black jackets, were fair-skinned, well-built and had beards, and were likely European or Middle Eastern.
Hamas has previously accused the Mossad of assassinating another one of its drone experts - Mohamed Zouari - in Tunisia in 2016.
The Israeli military says it has arrested 15 Hamas operatives in an overnight West Bank raid.
Al Batsh, a father of three, had been in Malaysia for more than seven years and held a Malaysian permanent resident status, officials said.
