Zeke Upshaw, a player for the Grand Rapids Drive of the National Basketball Association G League, was hospitalized in MI after a terrifying collapse during a game Saturday night.

MLive reported that Upshaw was taken from the arena to a nearby hospital.

The Drive released a statement saying an update would be provided once available.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - An NBA G League player for the Grand Rapids Drive who collapsed on the court near the end of a game with the Long Island Nets is now under care by doctors.

According to the Wood TV 8 (Grand Rapids NBC affiliate), Upshaw was in cardiac arrest and in critical condition after being rushed to a hospital.

Upshaw's teammates ended up finishing the remaining 40 seconds of the game where they defeating the Nets 101-99 to clinch the final playoff spot in the National Basketball Association G-League playoffs.

Prior to the collapse, the 26-year-old scored 11 points in a crucial 101-99 win that guranteed the Drive a G-League playoff spot. From Chicago, the 6-foot-6 swingman played three seasons at Illinois State and finished his college career with a year at Hofstra.
