Call it the clash between Khloe Kardashian's ex andKendall Jenner's current, as things reportedly got scary between the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers following their January 15 game. On his way back up court, Griffin went out of bounds and bumped Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni, who became irate and cursed in Griffin's direction.
Gerald Green joined Trevor Ariza and James Harden in a post-game altercation Monday, as the trio tried to force their way into the locker room of the Clippers looking to confront Austin Rivers. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that several Rockets players attempted to gain access to the Clippers' locker room.
According to Wojnarowski, Clippers players were stunned when the Rockets suddenly appeared in their locker room, presumably led by Paul, who played for the Clippers for six seasons.
It came on a day which featured several ejections from National Basketball Association games, including Australian and Philadelphia star Ben Simmons, Oklahoma City star Russell Westbrook and Clippers power forward Blake Griffin.
Sources: As the four Rockets marched through the back hallway into the Clippers locker room, center Clint Capela knocked on the front door of Clippers entrance.
Asked what he said, D'Antoni replied, "You mean after he hit me?" "We were where we were supposed to be - we were in our locker room", Griffin said.
Security intervened and prevented any of the players from entering, but the Rockets players were swearing at the Clippers and were "close to getting in when they were stopped". He went 4-of-14 from the field while ending up 1-of-8 from behind the 3-point line.
At times he chased around Paul on defense.
Within minutes, Griffin and Lou Williams, the guard traded to Los Angeles to get Paul, finished off the Rockets, 113-102. The teams play against in Los Angeles on February 28. On a night that the Clippers organization played a video montage to honor Paul's six seasons here, the fractured relationships that led to his departure in June percolated in the raucous fallout of the night.
The confrontation was broken up before it turned physical. The Clippers are 2-0 vs. the Rockets, having won by 10 points on December 22. After all, they were adding one of the top point guards in the game.
