Love released a statement through the school Tuesday saying he will be back next year while continuing to work on his degree in human biology.
"The San Francisco Chronicle wrote that "(t) he junior tailback didn't make his decision until the last possible minute Monday night, the deadline for entering the National Football League draft".
After sitting behind current Carolina Panther running back Christian McCaffrey for two seasons, Love burst onto the scene his first seasons as a full-time starter. "Bryce will return to Stanford to complete his senior year", Chris Love told WRAL.
Love re-wrote Stanford's record books in the Cardinal's 9-4 season, running for 1,973 yards on 237 carries.
Love led the Pac-12 and was second in the nation with 2,118 rushing yards and scored 19 touchdowns. The 2017 Heisman Trophy runner-up instantly becomes a favorite to win the award in his senior season.
