Gainesville Police officers stated that Swann and Vannarah Riggs, also a professional wrestler, were in the vehicle when Riggs started to critique his performance earlier that night at 8 Seconds in downtown Gainesville.
Per the report, Swann was driving and critiquing Yung's performance when he became angry. As things heated, Swann allegedly put Yung in a headlock and shoved her back into his vehicle after she'd gotten out to walk away. The Vic told the Def she did not want to get back in the vehicle as she continued to walk away.
Swann is a former champion for the WWE's Cruiserweight division. Swann grabbed her and forced her back into the auto where she began screaming for help, states the report. The Gainesville Florida police department released the official police report concerning the case. According to the police report from Gainsville PD and eyewitnesses at the scene, Swann and Riggs were driving down the road after the show and discussing her match when Swann got angry at her, causing Riggs to leave the vehicle while it was stopped in traffic.
The woman told police she was afraid of Swann because "he has a temper sometimes". She said she tried to escape him because she feared the argument blowing up into a physical confrontation.
The couple is recently married; they Wednesday nine months ago and have been in a relationship for about 5 years, according to the report.
WWE has suspended Swann as WWE has zero tolerance for incidents like these. He is now being held at Alachua County Jail in Gainesville, Florida and has been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment, as well as battery - touching or striking.
In Florida, kidnapping/false imprisonment is a third-degree felony punishable for up to five years and Battery is a first degree misdemeanour with a penalty of up to one year behind bars.
Swann was slated to match up with Drew Gulak in a match to determine the No. 1 contender for Enzo Amore's Cruiserweight title on Monday night. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended.
