According to a post on Google Product Forums, some users are reporting that the Pixel 2 XL's screen flashes when they unlock their device. Some have found that disabling this feature prevents the issue, others say that even just toggling it off and then on is a temporary solution. The issue is now being addressed through an update from Google and it is said that the tech giant has lost trust in LG. Previously, the company released a batch of "pure" Pixel 2 XL without Android.
Google is having a hard time with the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL flagship devices. Unlocking the bootloader on the new Pixel 2 is pretty easy and if you know what you're doing, it'll take only a few minutes.
In another issue reported by Pixel 2 users (and some Pixel 2 XL users), some users are experiencing microphone malfunctions on call - when making calls, the mic doesn't pick anything up. The latest one that has surfaced is related to the bigger Pixel 2 XL model.
A number of users have reported that blowing into the bottom speaker or USB port seems to solve the microphone issue.
Among the several issues still plaguing the Google Pixel 2/2 XL, there's one that causes the phone's microphone to not work in some critical scenarios, like during a call or while using Assistant.
The cause for this is unknown, but on some devices, users are reporting that the microphone just stops working, seemingly due to some hardware issue. This doesn't happen all the time.
The Pixel User Community forums post, which was first published back in October 21, has now gained some attention with other users reporting to be experiencing the same issue.
