A win for Manchester United against title rivals Tottenham Hotspur will not only end a two-game winless streak for Jose Mourinho's men but will also provide "a big statement" about their championship prospects, midfielder Ander Herrera has said.
Shaw had the most successful season of his career under Pochettino at St. Mary's before he left to join United and Mourinho was very understanding of his comments, describing them as the "perfect words".
"We are a team who want to compete, who are competing and then the results are the results".
"I have the player that I want to have, probably I have the player I didn't think it was possible to have", he said.
The England global freely admits he wants to link up once more with Pochettino eventually, with the full-back even saying "I think he really wants me to play under him again".
An extract from Pochettino's new book, published this week, detailed how the Argentinian was unimpressed by Mourinho hugging and talking with Eric Dier after last season's match at Old Trafford that United won 1-0. I told the players they are not machines and its so hard to cope with global duty, play every three days.
"Luke Shaw was just honest".
"I don't speak about injured players, so don't ask me about Harry Kane", the Portuguese added, before listing United's own lengthy injury list. "We'll take the best decision for the team".
"Motor mouth Jose at it again can see why so many fall out with him now", he wrote. "But he is in the squad, he works and maybe the opportunity comes".
