Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick has reportedly scored big with his new book deal.
According to Sports Illustrated, Colin Kaepernick was invited to the next National Football League meeting by current National Football League players. Because he didn't receive the formal invitation, it seems Kaepernick opted not to attend, though that is not certain. Just a couple weeks ago, he filed an accusation of collusion against numerous NFL owners, accusing them of freezing him out of the league for political reasons.
The meeting Kaepernick is expected to be invited to is scheduled for next Tuesday in NY, almost two weeks after the first meeting between players, owners and league executives regarding the protests during the national anthem. "I expect he will be invited to this meeting", Lockhart said of Kaepernick, who began kneeling past year as a way to protest against racial injustice in the United States.
One major finding that stood out in the survey is the desire for a national leader-the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback stood out among the choices given to respondents.
Trump has pushed the notion kneeling players are insulting the nation, the flag and U.S. soldiers while players insist they are using the freedom of expression the flag represents to make their point, many who won't kneel now locking arms in a sign of unity that has included club owners at times. That ultimately appeared to have been orchestrated by Trump, who said he asked Pence to walk out in the event that protests occurred during the anthem. Among other things, that grievance is seeking to dig into private communications of owners and executives over the past year, apparently in hopes of finding a smoking gun that proves teams worked together against him as a form of retribution for his protests during the anthem.
