"What About", featuring the lyrics "What about the times you yelled at me?/ What about the times I cried?/ You wouldn't even hold me", was co-written by Janet and her album collaborators James Harris III, Terry Lewis and René Elizondo, Jr.
Jackson, 51, sang her hits like "Nasty", "Miss You Much" and "All For You", while interacting with fans in the crowd. "I'm here to tell you that we are doing the show in Houston", she wrote. Janet Jackson made her return to the stage on Thursday, September 7, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Janet, whose show is normally more high-octane and cheerful, has just resumed her tour since giving birth to her first child, son Eissa, at the end of past year.
News of her divorce from Wissam Al Mana, her husband of five years, soon followed.
Fans of Janet will remember back in July of 2016 when she announced she would be delaying her Unbreakable tour as her and her husband at the time were planning their family. "So I will see you Friday".
She also posted a note this week, as she visited shelters in Houston and reflected upon other disasters currently taking place in the world that we "can't give up hope now... let's weather the storm together".
While in Houston, Janet met Hurricane Harvey victims.
The show received high marks from critics who praised the performer for her on-point moves after giving birth in January of this year and dropping a reported 60+ pounds in just a span of months.
