The clip, released Monday, features the WWE Superstar and "American Grit" host reading letters from fans about how his message of "Never Give Up" resonated with them during hard times in their lives. From a car-crash victim to a young fan whose mother battled cancer, Cena read letter after letter from fans thanking him for changing their lives.
John Cena's fans know his mantra is "Never give up", and they take those words to heart.
Cena was reduced to tears when he watched a video of a little boy to whom he had given a wristband ringside.
As Cena reads the letters, he becomes visibly moved by their stories and the video makes it clear he read each of them out loud. Tyler describes how his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and how Cena's message helped his family through that tough time. "At a young age he has such great perspective...."
One by one, each fan got the chance to meet Cena, and emotions were clearly running high for all.
Schweer then burst into the room, causing Cena to tear up and give the child a big hug, telling him that he's "extremely strong" for going through what he did.
He adds: "Coolest surprise ever".
A teary-eyed Cena addresses the group, saying: "Just remember that you guys do the work. You all lead by example and I mean it when I say it, never give up". "And it's a reaffirming message of be mindful that your actions affect those close to you".
