President Donald Trump is once again seeming to reject the intelligence community's collective conclusion that Russian Federation tried to interfere in last year's election, saying in a tweet early Tuesday morning that such claims are simply "a lame excuse for why the Dems lost the election".
Former members of America's intelligence community are plumbing the depths of their reservoir of metaphors to express distress over news that the president's son-in-law tried setting up a secret communication channel with Russian Federation.
"You consider it in terms of its reliability", Kelly said.
The White House crisis management plan, Jared Kushner's standing with the boss and new congressional wrinkles in the Russian Federation investigation - they're all a part of our Inside Politics forecast.
A White House spokesman says President Donald Trump has a "fairly unbelievable" relationship with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The report, if confirmed, would raise new questions about the Trump team's relationship with the Russians, who United States intelligence agencies say tried to sway the November election in Trump's favor.
Schiff said he expected Kushner, who serves as an unpaid adviser to Trump, to appear before his committee and suggested his security clearance be reviewed. "If not then there's no way he can maintain that kind of a clearance".
The latest reports says Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner proposed a secret back channel between the Kremlin and the Trump transition team.
Kushner initially had come to the attention of FBI investigators past year as they began scrutinising former national security adviser Michael Flynn's connections with Russian officials, the two sources told Reuters. The person, like others, spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss private conversations.
Russia, a pivotal player in Syria, has backed Syrian President Bashar Assad, often at the expense of civilians and at odds with USA policy during Syria's long civil war. A White House official dismissed it as a brief courtesy meeting at the time.
The New York Times said the channel was never established. "What's worrying me are the patterns we're seeing".
The team made a decision to communicate with Moscow through more official channels.
Trump has regularly called the mainstream media "fake news" since entering the world of politics.
"It is my opinion that numerous leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media", the president said in a series of tweets Sunday morning.

Mr Kushner's involvement in the plan was first reported by the Washington Post, which said he proposed using Russian diplomatic facilities for the discussions, apparently to make them more hard to monitor.
The Washington Post reported on Wednesday (24 May) that the Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained a document detailing an alleged email from then-Democratic National Committee (DNC) chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Kushner is Trump's Orthodox Jewish son-in-law.
Sally Yates, the former acting attorney general, told Congress this month that the deception left Flynn vulnerable to being blackmailed by the Russians. "Now, despite that, he brought Jared Kushner into the White House because of his loyalty, because his usefulness within the White House". A special counsel is now investing whether Trump's associates may have colluded with Russian Federation during the campaign.
Recently appointed special counsel Robert Mueller, a former FBI director, is starting off an investigation with a broad mandate that will allow him to probe both the possible Russian influence and whether Trump attempted to obstruct the investigation by firing FBI Director James Comey.
