A Srinagar-based army spokesperson said, "Total four terrorists killed".
He said two soldiers attained martyrdom in the operation, which was continuing till last reports were received.
Four militants and three Indian soldiers were killed in a two day long gunbattle close to the de facto border between India and Pakistan in the disputed Kashmir region, according to the Indian army.
Defence spokesman Lt Col Rajesh Kalia told Mirror that yesterday two infiltrating terrorists and three soldiers were also killed in Nowgam sector, and today we have killed two more infiltrators. Four weapons were recovered from the terrorists from the site of the encounter. In the initial gunfight, two militants and two soldiers were killed while the operation remained suspended during the night.
The death toll in the foiled infiltration bid in the Naugam sector has climbed to seven after two more terrorists were gunned down by the Army in the 30-hour-long encounter.
The fierce exchange of fire began when alert troops intercepted a group of infiltrators near the LOC on Saturday.
This came after Defence Minister Arun Jaitley's meeting with the senior commanders and troops at a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC), where he reviewed the security situation.
