Heather Morris showed up solo on Tuesday's Good Morning America, and explained why her Dancing With the Stars pro partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, was not joining her. News of the elimination, "You don't know what's going to happen with these things, but I was very, very happy for the last time to be incredible and to get to dance with Maks again...we missed that for the last three weeks". I'm truly just not all that surprised by their too-early elimination.
"They had some sort of run-in with some man near their house trying to break in, but the police were there", Morris, 30, said.
Are you shocked that Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Heather Morris went home last night on Dancing With the Stars? I just feel bad it took so long for me to get back, even though this was the fastest I could possibly do. "It's a hard competition and I'm really happy that I got to do exactly what I got to do". The received the first ideal score of the season Monday night. The dance pro's dancer fiancée, Peta Murgatroyd, spoke to ET's Cameron Mathison after the show aired to share her reaction to the news. Their salsa to the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up" scored a 38 out of 40, which put them right behind Morris. "It was at 2:30 in the morning - I couldn't understand what's happening and then I had to get in the auto and drive to do the satellite, so I called Heather".
Not only was it a heartbreaking moment for the former Glee star, but Chmerkovskiy had just returned to the ballroom after sitting out for the past few weeks due to a serious calf injury. She misses me the second I get to the airport. My job with Heather was to make sure our segment is as best as we possibly make it and I think that that's what we delivered on every week.
"Well, I mean we've had a few [surprising upsets] in 24 seasons of the show [but] I just never thought that one of my [partners] was going to be a part of that shock", he said. "That's the most important thing".
