Vincent Kompany is undoubtedly one of the greatest defenders in recent Premier League history, but unfortunately for Manchester City, he's rarely been available when they've needed him over the past few seasons.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that any decision on the future of goalkeeper Joe Hart, who has been linked with Liverpool, will only be taken at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the Saints are 12 points clear of the relegation zone following results from earlier in the day and will be looking to close the gap on West Bromwich Albion to a single point in the race to finish eighth.

Guardiola described his performance in last week's victory over Hull as "unbelieveable" and the Spaniard has now explained why he has been so impressed.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that the football club is still "far away" from mounting a challenge for the Champions League gong, European club football's biggest prize.

He said: "We are far away - not in terms of the quality, in terms of how we play situations".

The Champions League quarter-finals began this week without City's involvement.

"It's a disappointment because we can do better, we can create better opportunities". Now he's involved in the game.

First Silva's through-ball sent De Bruyne through and he squared for Sane to sweep past Forster, then Aguero nodded in his 11th goal in 11 games.

"That can happen. The exception is 7 times in a row at the semi-final or final".

"After the game against Chelsea he had a little problem in his legs, and we didn't want to take the risk, but of course the good news is he was able to play 90 minutes in a tough game at Stamford Bridge at a high level".

"[His attitude] was always good, from the beginning - I said that many times".

"After that, if he misses chances or misses other things, always you can improve but I have no complaints". Seven games banned because he is so aggressive.

That continued a dismal sequence for the Chilean, who was dropped after conceding six goals from six shots faced in back-to-back games against Everton and Tottenham in January.
