Borussia Dortmund duo Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic have confirmed turning down moves to Liverpool last summer.
However, the Frenchman had already spoken to Dortmund officials prior to meeting the Reds' boss and had decided he would join the German outfit.
Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel is confident Mario Gotze will return to be an important part of his squad after being ruled out for an unknown period.
Speaking to this month's issue of Four Four Two, Dembele has revealed that Liverpool wanted to sign him last summer - but whilst he met up with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, he told him that he had made a decision to join Dortmund.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, the French global has revealed all about an attempt from Klopp to prise him to Anfield, but unfortunately for the Premier League giants, he wasn't going to change his mind over a switch to the Bundesliga while champions Leicester City were also snubbed. "I told Claudio Ranieri the same thing", he added.
Another Dortmund winger has also opened up on why he turned down a move to Liverpool, with long-term target Pulisic revealing that he couldn't leave the club that gave him his chance.
The United States worldwide signed a new deal with Dortmund in January, and explained that he never really considered moving to Anfield.
Dortmund rejected the bid and Pulisic claims that Liverpool were never really on his mind. I knew about how Dortmund developed young players.
