Walla, a popular news website, suggested that if Israelis were exhausted of her, they might as well "move to another news item, site or planet".

Nearly 75 years in the making, Wonder Woman is slated to hit the big screen in June 2017.

In an interview with the LA Times, actress Gal Gadot said there's going to be a difference between the Wonder Woman audiences got to know during her brief cameos in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Wonder Woman who will be starring in her own standalone movie come 2017. In that time, Batman has appeared in features nine times played by six different actors.

Currently, though, there's no indication that she'll make it to the big screen. By that point, Gadot had gone through nine months of rigorous training focusing on martial arts and sword work to get into Wonder Woman shape.

Gadot declined at first, saying she had no interest in acting, until her agent demanded she show up. Characters like Storm, Jean Grey and Mystique have been a vital part of the X-Men universe for over a decade.

A little background here for any newbies: the Wonder Woman film is based on a DC Comics series, originally written by a psychotherapist who specialized in feminist themes. I do think Wonder Woman would be all for the first female president! And that does mean something. An early photo of her in the gladiator-inspired Wonder Woman costume assuaged some concerns. I'm very happy and grateful for being the one who got this opportunity to tell her story. "And my hero, in my head, has really long legs".

She added the amazon inspired costumes were styled to differ from the classic male-heroic stereotypes. "She's the ideal woman".

Superman v Batman, Dawn of Justice comes out in theaters on Friday. She's not the love interest or the sexual object or the sidekick. This cast looks positively badass, and having seen Batman v Superman I can attest that Gadot's Wonder Woman is one of the best things about the movie. And she would be there for millions of young girls to look up to.

GLAMOUR: What makes a modern Wonder Woman? Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Batman, as well as Henry Cavill as Superman. She's also one of DC's first recurring black female heroes.

LC: The dumbing down that the producers wanted me to do of Diana Prince, Wonder Woman's alter ego. I can only imagine women of color would like to see the same.
